A staple in the Hawaii community for 54 some odd years now, Longs Drugs has always been much more than just a place to get a bottle of aspirin. Need some Kleenex? Go to Longs. How about a bag of rice? Longs has it. A rice cooker to make it with? Yep, Longs has that too. How about Nyquil or multi-vitamins? Longs and Longs. Longs Drugs is one of those great places where you can grab just about any everyday item quickly and at a good price. Best of all is their customer service: most all Longs employees I've come across have been quite nice and helpful with any questions I may have. According to a recent article in Pacific Business News, Longs will soon be serving the Upcountry Maui community with a new location in the recently built KulamaluTown Center. Scheduled to open in early 2009, this new Longs Drugs will be a freestanding, 16,000 sq. ft. large store, built with green principles in mind; a photovoltaic system rated to produce 150k kilowatts of electricity per year, and construction utilizing various recyclable materials. Very nice.
This new Longs will be a welcome addition to the to this community, adding convenience for those of us with Upcountry Maui homes - including those with a future Maui home at 15800 Haleakala Hwy. ;)
